Hello everybody.  This is a summary of the last week of development in OpenSimulator.  Except where otherwise specified, the changes described here appear only in OpenSim’s cutting edge Git ‘master’ branch. Please do not attempt to use code taken directly from ‘master’ in any production environment.  Sometimes this in-development code may not work or may even cause data corruption. If you are not a developer or tester, please treat this summary instead as a preview of what will be coming up in the next release. The latest official release is OpenSim (released on Saturday 11th September 2010).

The letters and numbers in brackets after some entries tell you the latest git commit to which they apply.

This week in OpenSim ( c75e916 – 9e47018 ).

General news

  • None this week.

Features & bug fixes

  • Marck created a new “alert-user” command which allows an individual user to receive an alert in the viewer.  The “alert” command now simply sends an alert to all users.  This removes a bug where it was impossible to alert a user whose name began with “general”! (25265c9).
  • Marck made osTeleportOwner() work even if the object containing the script and the owner of the land it was on are not the same (47a5d8d).
  • I removed a bug where the agent would pause for up to 1.5 seconds when crossing a region border.  This is a fairly recent git master regression which has only been around since late January 2011 (e774679).

  • No news this week.
