Following another long session in a smoke-filled IRC channel, we (the OpenSim core developers) extended an invitation to Dan Lake, a Network Software Engineer with Intel’s Network Technology Lab, to join the core OpenSim team.  Dan has contributed lots of patches to OpenSim, notably many which tackle the very tricky area of performance improvement in both the core scene code and in the Open Dynamics Engine (ODE) OpenSim physics plugin.

Dan was happy to accept our invitation, so along with the other core developers I’m very pleased to welcome him on board.
